How to get to Paris from Charles de Gaulle Airport

To get to central Paris from Charles de Gaulle (GDG) airport can be relatively straightforward. There are a number of ways, depending on your own personal situation and considerations.

The fastest and cheapest route into central Paris is by RER train but the disadvantage is you will then have to make your way from a train or Metro station to your final destination. If you are travelling light, reasonably fit and want the experience then it is a good choice.

The Roissy bus is a good option if your hotel is in or near the 'Opera' district of the city as this where you disembark.

'Les Cars', which are actually very comfortable coaches, give you two routes into Paris one for the North Bank and one for the South Bank. Again, depending on you final destination these may work for you. You do not need to be an Air France customer to use this service.

Taxis are the first choice, though an expensive one, of many travellers, as you are taken directly to your destination. This also applies to the shuttle services which allow you to keep the price down by sharing with fellow travellers or privately for a group.

There are also several shuttle buses run by the airport, which take guests to the many hotels on and around the airport.

The only bus service operating at night is the Noctilien, which links the airport with various destinations in Paris between 00.30am and 5.30am. It picks up passengers from entrance 26 of terminal 1, entrance 2 of terminal 2F and Roissypole bus station every hour. Fares depend on distance travelled up to € 7.60. You can also use public bus transport....
