'Gare du Nord' or 'Paris Nord' is the railway
station used as the city hub for the
Eurostar trains to and from London, St.Pancras,
Thalys (red trains)
to and from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands
(17 cities in all)
and TGV trains to the north of the country.
So no matter what your European itinerary consists
of, there are plenty of trains to suit your travel
You can also arrive here if you have taken the
RER train from
Charles de Gaulle Airport into the city.
The station is in
the heart of the city of Paris, it has a beautiful
facade and is ideally placed for easy access to some of
the city's favourite attractions.
station was built in the late 1800's and is an
exceptional building, far too grand some might
think,to house rolling stock but then we are in
early reconstruction the original facade was
replaced and according to 'Wikipedia' transferred to
Lille. The support pillars, due to there size, had
to be manufactured in Glasgow, Scotland.
