About CHATELET - LES HALLES
Châtelet – Les Halles is the largest and busiest transport hub in the city of Paris. The station/hub is actually made up of the 'Châtelet – Les Halles' RER station for line A ,line B and line D plus 'Les Halles' (line 4) and 'Châtelet'(lines1,4,7,11&14) metro stations.
Many Parisians would advise avoiding the place altogether (especially at night) but if you really have to use it this may help. You may need it as there are 19,yes 19, exits within the hub.

The renovation of the station, which was completed in 2018,included new directional signage and digital screens which make navigating this huge station a lot easier.
If your trip means you must arrive here you should determine which one of the exits suits your final destination or, depending on which line you have arrived on, you may wish to take the nearest exit to get you to street level and use a map app to get you there, as the station is vast and you can walk its tunnels (they do have some moving walkways) for up to 20 minutes to make a transfer.
As a transport hub Châtelet – Les Halles handles over three quarters of a million passengers per day, rarely like above, at peak times (08.00-10.00 and 17.00-20.00) you can expect scenes like this below!
*Please note: because of the number of passengers through this station it is best avoided at peak times.
