GARE DU NORD TRAIN STATION,PARIS

Picture
'Gare du Nord' or 'Paris Nord' is the railway station used as the city hub for the Eurostar trains to and from London, St.Pancras, Thalys (red trains) to and from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands  (17 cities in all) and  TGV trains to the north of the country.
So no matter what your European itinerary consists of, there are plenty of trains to suit your travel schedules.
You can also arrive here if you have taken the RER train from Charles de Gaulle Airport into the city.
The station is in the heart of the city of Paris, it has a beautiful facade and is ideally placed for easy access to some of the city's favourite attractions.

The station was built in the late 1800's and is an exceptional building, far too grand some might think,to house rolling stock but then we are in Paris!
During early reconstruction the original facade was replaced and according to 'Wikipedia' transferred to Lille. The support pillars, due to there size, had to be manufactured in Glasgow, Scotland.
Areas served from this station:
Eurostar trains to U.K., Belgium
TGV trains to Netherlands
Thalys trains to Germany

 Take a taxi...

Finding a taxi is easy at Gare du Nord you just have to follow the Taxi signs pointing towards the western end (to the right as you exit the trains) of the station leading to Rue de Dunkerque where you will find the taxi rank. The queues can be long - it may take twenty minutes to get to the front if you hit a busy period. There are options for pre-booking a taxi or shuttle van where you will be met at the station with someone with a signboard with your name.
Expect to pay  15.00€ to  30.00€ depending on which station you are heading to.
