ABOUT TRAIN STATIONS AT PARIS CDG AIRPORT

There are 2 train stations (Gares) at CDG airport, 'Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 1' near Terminal 3 within the 'Roissypole' complex of the airport, for the RER regional trains into and from Paris and 'Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 - TGV' within terminal 2 (located between Terminal 2E and 2C) for both regional (RER) trains into and from Paris and TGV intercity trains.

Plan showing train stations at Charles de Gaulle airport
If you arrive at CDG Terminal 1 and want to make your way into Paris by train you have to take the CDGVAL shuttle train to 'Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 1'

If you are travelling to somewhere other than Paris and have chosen the TGV/Intercity train as your choice of transport what you need to do is to make your way to the train station (Gare) 'Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 - TGV' within terminal 2 using the CDGVAL airport shuttle train.

AEROPORT CHARLES DE GAULLE 1 TRAIN STATION.

Charles de Gaulle train station CDG 1
'Aeroport Charles de Gaulle1' (CDG1) is not, as you might expect, in terminal 1 but within the 'Roissypole Gare' complex that includes the rail and bus stations as well as access to the CDGVAL airport shuttle train.
Access to the airport shuttle train at Charles de Gaulle train station CDG 1
At CDG 1 you can take the RER train into central Paris but you can't catch the TGV  here - you need to go to  'Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 -TGV' for that.

AEROPORT CHARLES DE GAULLE 2-TGV TRAIN STATION.

'Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2-TGV' (CDG2-TGV) is in the heart of terminal 2 between Terminal 2C,2D,2E and 2F.

After arriving at Terminal 2 by continuing to follow the signs for 'Gare SNCF' you will eventually reach the large antrum that is level 4, where you are greeted by the massive flight display board and SNCF's (the French railway company) not too subtle pink columns letting you know you have to go down to get to the station.
Picture
Descend to Level 2 where you will find the ticket office for the station. The office is split into two sides, one side for tickets for Paris trains (RER B) and the other side for intercity trains tickets, which includes TGV trains.

Once you have your ticket you then descend to Level 1 - which is at mid-level and seems like a great waste of space, before continuing to follow the signs 'Paris par train'.
