WHAT IS ROISSYPOLE AT CHARLES DE GAULLE ?
Roissypole at CDG airport explained
‘Roissypôle’ is the name of the group of buildings made up of offices, airport hotels, the RER train station (Aeroport CDG1), the bus and coach station and includes a CDGVAL shuttle train stop for transferring between terminals within the Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport complex.
Giving the name CDG1 to the RER station here at Roissypole is a bit confusing as it is not at terminal 1 but at the CDGVAL airport shuttle train stop for terminal 3.
As you can see the station is ideally placed for the airport hotels ►Hotels at CDG you can walk to some of them or use the courtesy buses.
Here is where 'Roissypole' is located within the airport complex.
If you are heading for Terminal 3...
Although the sign at the exit from the CDGVAL shuttle train on arrival at Roissayole informs you that you are at Terminal 3 you have in fact around a 10min walk (part of it not under cover) ahead of you to reach the actual terminal. It includes a road crossing and a trip through a tunnel under a road - which all seems a little at odds for an international airport.
